The Cognitive Freedom Method™
A structured framework for changing
how your mind works.
Insight alone doesn't change patterns.
This is the most important thing to understand about lasting change.
Most people who seek therapy, coaching, or self-development already have insight. They understand their childhood. They can name their patterns. They know what they're doing and, often, why.
And then they do it again.
Insight creates awareness. Awareness is necessary. But it's not sufficient for real change. Something more structured is required.
Think of it as a bridge between two things that rarely get taught together.
First, a deep understanding of why your patterns exist. Drawing from Buddhist psychology and cognitive science, you learn how your mind developed the thinking, reactions, and protective habits that are still running today.
Second, a clear, evidence-based process to actually change those patterns. Not manage them. Change them.
Most approaches give you one without the other: insight without a path forward, or tools without the depth to make them stick. The Cognitive Freedom Method™ brings both together, so you can move from understanding your patterns to no longer being run by them.
How change actually happens.
The Cognitive Freedom Method™ takes you through three distinct stages:

Identify the Patterns
You begin by seeing the patterns that have been driving your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
What once felt automatic starts to become visible. You recognize how specific ways of thinking and reacting have been shaping your decisions, your relationships, and your day-to-day experience.
This stage creates clarity. Not just about what is happening, but why.

Interrupt and Rewire
Once the patterns are clear, you learn how to change them.
Using a structured, step-by-step process, you disrupt the automatic thoughts, emotional reactions, and behaviors that keep you stuck. At the same time, you build new, more effective ways of thinking and responding.
Real change at the root, not at the surface.

Operate from a New Default
With practice, these new patterns become how you naturally function.
You think more clearly. You respond with intention. You move through challenges without being pulled into old reactions.
This is where change stops being something you work at and becomes simply how you operate.
What you develop through this method.
Through the Cognitive Freedom Method™, you learn how to:
-
See your thoughts as mental events, not facts
-
Recognize the patterns that misinterpret your experience
-
Work with sticky thoughts rather than being controlled by them
-
Create space between trigger and response
-
Regulate emotion from the inside rather than managing it from the outside
-
Build the internal steadiness that makes real confidence possible

A clinician-developed framework. Built on 20 years of practice.
Developed by Dr. Shyamala Kiru
The Cognitive Freedom Method™ is evidence-based, grounded in graduate-level training in psychology, and structured like a curriculum.
Clients know exactly where they are in the process, what they're working on, and where they're going. There's no wandering.
There's no recycling of the same conversation week after week.
This method is built to deliver lasting results.
Not by managing symptoms, but by changing the patterns that drive them.
So you can think clearly, respond intentionally, and move through your life without being pulled back into old reactions.
